Hi Bart,
Our families go back about 5 generations. My dad, 99 years old, and his father before him grew up in Ridgewood. At one time the family owned the longest bar in New York and they kept A.Bauer's mustard bottles on the bar for the free sandwiches they used to draw in customers. The bar was located across the street from the Brooklyn Navy Yard. My mother's family also has a connection. Her father sold insurance to your family during the Depression. Some times when they did not have cash they paid him in bottles of mustard. Can you send me a list of your local distributors; I live in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Hi there,
We've had an empty jar of yours in our possession for many years. our first child was born 3 weeks ago and we named him august, not even realizing that the "A" in a.bauer's mustard was for august. throw in that i'm a chef who's been working in the restaurant industry for 20 years and you've got a funny story. maybe you have a few extra labels or a sticker to throw in with our order for another august bauer? thanks for providing a great history for my son to live up to...

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoy your mustard. We recently ordered several jars of your product and thoroughly savor its unique taste. It brings us back to our former Queens days. We have given some jars to our friends who also like it. Keep up the family tradition, Bart, you do your ancestors proud!
Sincerely,
>Helen "H" M., N. Carolina; Aug 2007

Hi
Thank God you're back!!!!!!!! I am not kidding. Just a few weeks ago, the family was mentioning that we haven't been able to get Bauers mustard anywhere, are you making it ....Yada, Yada,Yada. Well, just last week I found it on a shelf in the King Kullen in Bethpage. I must have 6 different kinds of mustards in the fridge, but you are iright there in the front of the others. Welcome back. (ps, I read the article in the Queens Tribune) Yes, my aunts' remember going to get the mustard right there on Metro.
Thank you,

Bart,
I have ordered your mustard for a few years now. I live in Virginia and used to live in N.Y. That's where my parents came from and their parents. Anyway the story is this. My 90-year old uncle, to whom I sent a case of your mustard, recalled that when he was a boy, your relative used to give him a ride to school in his provision truck. I just thought that was such a kick. Small world. Hope you enjoy the note.

Bart,
Thank you for the good customer service. Yes, I'm already enjoying the mustard. It takes me back to my childhood about 55 years ago when my mother always bought it at Ehmer or Schaller & Weber.
Thanks again.

fond memories
I'm 65 and when I lived on Nurge Ave in Maspeth I was just a few blocks from the Bauer's factory. My Mom would send me with an old mayo jar and
someone would dunk the jar in the vat and fill it up for 10 -15 cents. I'm sure this would be frowned upon these days, but to this day I still use Bauer's Mustard - I can get it at the King Kullen where I live in Wading River. I still can remember the aroma of horesradish when I walked into that place.
Is the plant still operational? Can visitors still go in? Will you fill up my mayo jar for 15 cents?

Good day to you. I lived in New York City for the majority of my life and always enjoyed your mustard. I moved to France earlier this year and brought a jar of your mustard with me. At this time, our family does not foresee the opportunity to return to the USA for at least a year. Today, we finished the jar of what I brought. We live in Bar le Duc, which is three (3) hours from Paris. Do you have any distributors in either France or any part of Europe where I can purchase your product?
Thanks very much for both your time and assistance. By the way, if you haven’t heard it today, your product is truly the best! Nothing comes close to it here!!!
